Mulilo achieved financial close on the 337 MW Middlepunt Solar PV project in South Africa, marking its second solar project closure in 2026. The facility will deliver 240 MWAC of clean electricity annually, generating approximately 770 GWh and reducing 813,000 tonnes of carbon emissions—enough to power 325,000 households. Structured under South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), the project represents the lowest-cost solar power achieved under the program to date. Financial close follows the project’s selection in a competitive bidding round, underscoring Mulilo’s growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable assets in the region. The project is expected to commence commercial operations by 2027, contributing to South Africa’s grid decarbonization and energy security goals.
