Natixis CIB and BBVA Perú provide 176 million USD green financing for Babilonia Solar project

Financing Solar announced Peru Apr 27, 2026

Babilonia Solar secured a 176 million USD green financing package from Natixis CIB and BBVA Perú to fund the construction of its 242 MW Babilonia Solar project in Peru’s La Joya district. The financing, announced as a green loan in March 2025, supports the project’s integration into the La Joya solar complex, which aims to reach nearly 700 MW of total capacity. The loan structure aligns with the project’s renewable energy generation goals, including the supply of approximately 450 GWh annually to Celepsa under a long-term PPA. Construction, underway since February 2025 under Zelestra’s internal EPC division, is expected to create over 500 direct jobs during the build phase. The project is part of Zelestra’s 1 billion USD five-year investment commitment in Peru, focusing on large-scale solar and wind initiatives.
