Neoen secures two 20-year solar PPAs with Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator for 318 MWc projects
French independent power producer Neoen won two 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) for two solar projects totaling 318 MWc (250 MWac) in the Canadian province. The first project, a 253 MWc (200 MWac) facility near Dunns Valley, will become Ontario's largest solar plant and is co-owned 50% with the Garden River First Nation, while the second, a 65 MWc (50 MWac) site near Paradis Bay, is developed in partnership with the Matachewan First Nation at 50% ownership. Combined, the projects are expected to generate approximately 475 GWh annually, addressing Ontario's rising electricity demand. Construction is slated to begin in 2028, with the Paradis Bay project commissioned in 2029 and Dunns Valley in 2030. Since entering the Canadian market in 2022, Neoen has built a portfolio of 968 MW of solar and battery storage projects, including operational and under-construction assets such as the 93 MWp Fox Coulée solar plant in Alberta and the 157 MWc Mino Giizis project in Saskatchewan.
