Netherlands Enterprise Agency opens permits for two 1GW offshore wind farms at IJmuiden Ver (Gamma-A and Gamma-B)
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency opened permits for two 1GW offshore wind farms at the IJmuiden Ver site, named Gamma-A and Gamma-B, with tenders scheduled to close in December 2026. Each site will have a capacity of 1GW, and subsidy decisions with permits are expected in Q1 2027, targeting first generation by 2032. The maximum subsidy for Gamma-B is set at €0.103 per kilowatt-hour, slightly lower than Gamma-A due to higher expected wind yields. Both projects will connect to a single TenneT offshore platform, with electricity transported to shore at Maasvlakte, enabling simultaneous licensing to reduce costs and construction time. Combined, the two wind farms are expected to supply electricity to approximately 2 million households.
