North Star and Norwind Offshore acquire ten Edda Wind vessels

Acquisition Offshore Wind announced United Kingdom Apr 29, 2026

North Star and Norwind Offshore completed the acquisition of ten Edda Wind vessels, including six commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) and four service operation vessels (SOVs), finalizing the split of Edda Wind’s fleet. North Star acquired four vessels—Goelo Enabler, Boreas Enabler, Nordri Enabler, and Sudri Enabler—along with their existing charter contracts, expanding its operational capacity to 14 vessels across European markets. Norwind Offshore, in partnership with Navigare Capital Partners, took over six CSOVs, including recently delivered units and newbuilds based on VARD 4 25 and SALT 0217 designs, with several already operational and others in final construction stages. The transactions follow Edda Wind’s March 2026 announcement to divest its SOV and CSOV fleet, marking a strategic shift in its operational focus. The deal doubles Norwind Offshore’s fleet and enhances its capabilities in commissioning and operations support for offshore wind farms, while North Star gains immediate operational capacity through deployed vessels. The vessels are currently supporting offshore wind projects in the UK and Europe, with the acquisitions finalized on April 29, 2026.
