Northland Power signs 30-year corporate PPA with TSMC for Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan
Northland Power Inc. executed a 30-year corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for the full generating capacity of the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan. The agreement covers the 1,022 MW Hai Long offshore wind complex, comprising three sites: Hai Long 2A (294 MW), Hai Long 2B (224 MW), and Hai Long 3 (504 MW), located 45-70 kilometers off the Changhua coast in the Taiwan Strait. TSMC will offtake 100% of the project's output once Hai Long 2A switches to the new CPPA, which builds on an existing 2022 partnership covering Hai Long 2B and Hai Long 3. The deal reinforces the strategic importance of the Hai Long project for Northland Power, with CEO Christine Healy noting it will enhance the project's long-term economic fundamentals and directly contribute to value creation for shareholders. Subject to administrative procedures in 2026, the agreement is expected to finalize the switch of Hai Long 2A to the new CPPA structure.
