Odfjell Technology acquires McGarian TDC and majority stake in Kaseum Holdings and Razor Oil Tools to expand well decommissioning services
Odfjell Technology completed the acquisition of McGarian TDC and acquired a majority stake in Kaseum Holdings and Razor Oil Tools, significantly expanding its well decommissioning and plug-and-abandonment (P&A) service capabilities. The transactions enhance Odfjell’s ability to engineer advanced intervention tools and deliver integrated P&A campaigns tailored to modern well challenges, particularly in mature oil and gas basins like the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico. McGarian TDC’s expertise in tubular recovery and well intervention complements Odfjell’s SavR-Cut & Pull System, while Kaseum Holdings and Razor Oil Tools bring specialized tooling and barrier verification solutions to the portfolio. The acquisitions follow Odfjell’s recent investment in a new workshop near Aberdeen, designed to support fishing, remedial, and P&A operations with modern infrastructure. These strategic moves position Odfjell Technology as a leading provider of end-of-life well solutions amid growing decommissioning activity, which Offshore Energies UK forecasts will account for 47% of total decommissioning expenditure between 2025 and 2034.
