Origin Energy Acquires 1st Energy and Partners with FranklinWH for VPP Integration

Origin Energy has acquired 1st Energy, adding over 80,000 customer accounts to its existing 4.7 million-strong customer base. This acquisition aims to strengthen Origin's position as a leading energy retailer in Australia. Additionally, Origin has partnered with FranklinWH Energy Storage to integrate its FranklinWH System into the Origin Loop VPP program, which has a combined capacity of 1.5 GW across more than 393,000 customer assets. The partnership allows FranklinWH customers to access Origin's battery plans while maintaining warranty protection and reliability.
