Plenary Group, through the Plenary Conventions consortium, finalized a $449 million public-private partnership to deliver the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre in Geelong, Australia. The 1,000-seat theatre and event precinct is part of a $676 million Geelong City Deal, with construction creating over 1,400 jobs and training 250 apprentices. The project includes an 80 sqm LED screen, food and beverage offerings, and a public plaza, with the adjacent 200-room Crowne Plaza Geelong hotel already operational. Expected to host 50+ conferences annually, the centre will drive tourism and economic growth in the region. The financing structure combines government investment with private sector participation, with Plenary Group committing an additional $130 million for the hotel and $260 million for future commercial spaces.
