PT PLN (Persero) signed the largest Power Purchase Agreement (PJBT) for a data center in Indonesia, committing to supply 511 megavolt ampere (MVA) of electricity to PT Digitalland Service One's (DayOne) data center project in the Kabil Industrial Estate, Batam. The agreement, signed on April 17, 2026, underscores PLN's role in supporting Indonesia's digital industry growth by ensuring reliable and large-scale power supply for high-performance computing needs. DayOne, a global data center developer, is expanding its operations in Batam as part of a regional strategy to build a leading digital infrastructure platform in Southeast Asia, mirroring models like Singapore-Johor-Riau (SIJORI). The project aligns with Batam's ambition to become a global digital hub, leveraging its strategic location and integrated infrastructure. PLN Batam confirmed its grid system is fully prepared to meet the high-capacity demands of the data center, ensuring operational reliability and quality of service.
