Pure Data Centres (Pure DC) and power firm AVK announced the launch of a 110MW on-site microgrid at Pure DC's Dublin campus. This project, billed as Europe's first large-scale microgrid, will support early-phase data center operations ahead of full grid connection and is engineered to accommodate future hydrogen blending and includes Combined Heat and Power (CHP) capability and a battery energy storage system (BESS). The microgrid will be comprised of three interconnected energy centers, with EC1 and EC2 operational by the end of 2026.
