QTS Realty Trust, Inc., a Blackstone-owned data center developer, filed to construct DC7, a 363,500 sq ft (33,770 sqm) two-story data center building at its DFW2 campus near Wilmer, Texas. The project, located at 1341 Sunrise Road in Lancaster, Dallas County, represents a $290 million investment with construction scheduled to begin in September 2026 and commercial launch targeted for December 2027. This expansion follows QTS's earlier filings for multiple buildings at the same campus, including DC1—a 413,725 sq ft (38,435 sqm) facility with a December 2025 completion target. The Wilmer campus is part of QTS's broader expansion strategy in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where it already operates a 55-acre campus in Irving offering 147MW of capacity and a Fort Worth facility acquired in 2017. Blackstone acquired QTS in 2021 and has since expanded its data center portfolio across the US, UK, Netherlands, and Spain.
