Quantum Delta NL funds Leiden Cryogenics and OrangeQS project

The project involved the development of a compact dilution refrigerator with an inverted fridge design, capable of cooling samples below 25 millikelvin and returning to room temperature in less than 24 hours. It operates without liquid nitrogen and with significantly lower helium-3 requirements than traditional cryostats. The fridge offers remote monitoring capabilities via OrangeQS’ open-source operating system, OrangeQS Juice, and SubZero cryogenic control software. The prototype took three years from conception to build.
