Rebi and INSOCA-Cartonajes Izquierdo hybridize Soria's heat network with industrial waste heat
Rebi and INSOCA-Cartonajes Izquierdo have agreed to hybridize the Soria heat network by incorporating residual heat from an industrial cogeneration plant. The cogeneration facility, with an electrical capacity of 1 MW, uses natural gas to produce electricity and thermal energy for industrial self-consumption. This system recovers low and medium temperature heat from the cogeneration engine's cooling, which would otherwise be dissipated. The recovered thermal energy is transferred to the urban heat network's hydraulic circuit as hot water, adding approximately 0.5 MW of thermal power. This recovered energy is stored in an inertia tank for demand-based management, contributing to a circular thermal utilization scheme where industrial waste heat is reintegrated into the network.
