Reden and Circle Energy sign co-development agreement for 200 MW of battery energy storage systems in Spain
French independent power producer (IPP) Reden and Spanish renewable energy developer Circle Energy signed a co-development agreement to jointly develop up to 200 MW of standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Spain. The partnership marks Reden’s first co-development initiative in battery storage within the country, expanding its Spanish operations beyond its existing 150 MW solar portfolio. Circle Energy, active in Spain and Mexico through its subsidiary Square Energy, brings a project pipeline exceeding 3 GW, including hybrid renewable-storage projects. The collaboration aims to deliver bankable storage assets that enhance grid flexibility, support renewable energy integration, and create local value across Spain’s electricity system.
