RUVDS launches experimental data center in Antarctica
Russian hosting firm RUVDS has launched an experimental data center at Bellingshausen Station in Antarctica, designed for scientific research and general user access. The facility will be operated in collaboration with the University of Maritime Practice and Arctic Tourism and the aerospace lab Stratonautica. RUVDS delivered the data center and equipment by plane and sea, with preparations for the project beginning in November 2024.
