RWE granted planning permission for Nordseecluster B offshore wind farm construction
The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has granted planning permission to RWE for the construction of its Nordseecluster B offshore wind farm. This 900 MW project, comprising the NC 3 and NC 4 sites, is the second phase of the 1.6 GW Nordseecluster development located in the German North Sea. RWE can now commence offshore construction next year, with foundation installation scheduled to begin in 2027 and the 60 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines to be installed in 2028. Nordseecluster B is slated to commence commercial operations in early 2029, contributing to the overall 1.6 GW capacity which will generate approximately 6.5 TWh of electricity annually.
