Scatec and Aeolus reach COD for 60 MW Tozeur solar plant in Tunisia
Scatec ASA and Aeolus SAS (part of Toyota Tsusho Group) have achieved commercial operations date (COD) for the 60 MW Tozeur solar power plant in Tunisia, retroactive to 4 March 2026. The project operates under a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Société Tunisienne de l'Électricité et du Gaz (STEG), Tunisia's state utility. Developed in parallel with the adjacent 60 MW Sidi Bouzid solar plant (which reached COD in March 2026), the projects form part of Tunisia's decarbonization strategy. Scatec owns 51% of the projects, with Aeolus holding 49%, and will provide O&M and asset management services. The combined plants are expected to generate 288 GWh annually, avoiding over 115,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. This marks Scatec's expansion in North Africa, with three additional projects in its backlog.
