Shakti Pumps secures INR 155.24 crore contract for 6,580 off-grid solar water pumps in Maharashtra
Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd secured a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd to deploy 6,580 off-grid solar PV water pumping systems under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana in Maharashtra. The contract, valued at INR 155.24 crore (inclusive of GST), covers pumps of 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP capacities for irrigation in off-grid regions. Shakti Pumps’ scope includes design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing, and commissioning of the systems, with a project completion period of 60 days from the issuance of the work order. The Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana is a flagship initiative by MSEDCL to solarize irrigation infrastructure, targeting small and marginal farmers for reliable water access. This deal strengthens Shakti Pumps’ position in Maharashtra’s renewable energy-driven agricultural sector, aligning with the state’s push for sustainable irrigation solutions.
