Siemens Gamesa signs long-term charter agreement with Purus for the SOV Purus Horizon

Siemens Gamesa signed a long-term charter agreement with Purus for the service operation vessel (SOV) Purus Horizon to support offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M) in the North Sea, with work to begin in early 2027. The vessel, acquired by Purus in 2024 and formerly named Edda Passat while owned by Edda Wind, previously operated under a five-year charter at Ørsted’s Race Bank offshore wind farm beginning in 2018. Purus Horizon is the second long-term charter in the vessel’s operational life and the agreement includes support for both planned and unplanned O&M activities at the unnamed North Sea offshore wind farms. Earlier in 2026 Purus also secured a five-year charter for its construction SOV Purus Power with OranjeWind, the RWE and TotalEnergies joint venture, highlighting Purus’s expanding charter portfolio in the UK and Netherlands North Sea market. The charter with Siemens Gamesa adds to Purus’s fleet utilization and provides Siemens Gamesa with dedicated SOV capacity for O&M operations starting in 2027; no financial terms or specific farm names were disclosed in the announcement.
