Solaria and Merlin Properties sign 213MW solar energy deal with 40-year PPA and 10-year BESS PPA for Madrid data center

Spanish energy firm Solaria Energía signed an agreement with real estate firm Merlin Properties to supply a data center in Madrid with 213MW of electrical power. The contract includes a 40-year PPA for 426MW of photovoltaic generation and an additional 10-year PPA for 600MWh of battery energy storage, creating Spain's first solar+BESS hybrid scheme. This deal provides firmness, flexibility, and price stability for the data center's intensive consumption, supporting Solaria's strategic roadmap as an integrated platform for renewables, storage, and networks for digital infrastructures.
