Solarworld secures 200 MW solar BOS and 182 MW/364 MWh BESS EPC contracts from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd
Solarworld secured a 200 MW balance-of-system (BOS) package for a grid-connected solar PV project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, as part of a broader 1 GW (2×300 MW + 2×200 MW) solar initiative. The contract includes three years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the solar plant, valued at INR 267.53 crore including taxes. Separately, Solarworld also won two battery energy storage system (BESS) EPC contracts totaling 182 MW/364 MWh at thermal power stations operated by NTPC. The first contract is for a 50 MW/100 MWh BESS at NTPC’s Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station, valued at INR 108.22 crore excluding taxes, with a 15-month completion timeline. The second contract involves a 132 MW/264 MWh BESS project at the Solapur Super Thermal Power Station, valued at INR 314.26 crore excluding taxes, also scheduled for completion within 15 months. These contracts underscore NTPC’s push to integrate renewable energy and storage solutions into its thermal power infrastructure.
