Sonnedix and Endesa sign hybrid renewable energy and battery storage hedge agreement
Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company, signed a tailor-made financial product with Endesa covering 262.8GWh of renewable energy starting in 2027 to hedge Sonnedix’s solar photovoltaic generation and battery energy storage system (BESS) positions. The agreement strengthens Sonnedix’s hybridization strategy by integrating 12GW of global renewable capacity across solar, wind, and storage assets with a 4GW operational portfolio and 1GW under construction. The transaction marks Sonnedix’s first hybrid product, combining solar generation and storage to optimize energy management for large electricity consumers in Spain and Portugal. Sonnedix’s CEO Axel Thiemann stated the deal reflects the evolution toward sophisticated solutions tailored to consumer needs, supporting decarbonization goals. The agreement coincides with the commissioning of Sonnedix’s first battery storage systems, signaling a milestone in its integrated energy solutions strategy.
