Spectra Logic and Geyser Data jointly launched a tape archive site in London, UK, offering Tape Archive Platform-as-a-Service (TAPAS) via Geyser Data’s portal as the first European deployment for both companies. The infrastructure is housed within a Digital Realty data center in London, leveraging Spectra Logic’s Spectra Cube cloud-optimized tape library and Spectra Certified LTO-9 media, alongside Spectra BlackPearl solutions. Customers will access archive storage through an Amazon S3-compatible interface, addressing cost unpredictability in cloud-based cold data archiving by providing predictable pricing for long-term retention. Nelson Nahum, CEO of Geyser Data, highlighted London as a key milestone for scaling Tape-as-a-Service into new markets through a growing provider ecosystem.
