Stream BioEnergy Ltd. secured €80 million ($94 million) in financing for Ireland’s largest biomethane plant in Little Island, Cork, through a €75 million ($87.8 million) debt raise led by Pioneer Infrastructure Partners and Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The project, underpinned by an EPC contract with Kanadevia Inova AG (formerly Hitachi Zosen Inova) and Coffey Group, will process 90,000 metric tons of food and garden waste annually starting in 2027. Centrica’s Bord Gáis Energy has signed a gas off-take agreement to purchase over 80 gigawatt-hours of renewable biomethane annually for the Irish National Grid. The facility will reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by 40,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent per year while producing sustainable biofertilizers. KVI also took a minority stake in the project, with local contractors expected to receive a material portion of the €80 million capital spend.
