Subsea Cable Assets secures framework contract with 50Hertz for cable carousel systems for German power grid projects
Subsea Cable Assets (SCA) secured its first framework contract with 50Hertz to deliver cable storage and handling systems for power grid projects in Germany. The agreement, awarded through a European tender process, covers the engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of four cable carousel systems, including associated loading equipment. Designed to support both offshore and onshore grid infrastructure, the systems will ensure reliable transmission of high-voltage electricity across northern and eastern Germany. SCA’s solution features a carousel-based design with partition walls enabling access to both ends of cables for testing, addressing space constraints in warehouses and on vessel decks. The electrically driven systems are engineered for low floor bearing loads, long-term reliability with an expected service life exceeding 25 years, and scalable, low-maintenance operation.
