Subsea7 secures EPC contract from Petrobras for Sépia 2 offshore field development in Brazil
Subsea7 secured a supermajor contract valued at over $1.25 billion from Petrobras to develop the Sépia 2 offshore field in Brazil's Santos Basin. The scope includes engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning of subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines for 17 wells, including two tied to the Sépia 1 project, as well as a gas export line with 18 risers. Located approximately 280 km southeast of Rio de Janeiro in water depths of around 2,170 meters, the Sépia 2 field is part of Brazil's pre-salt region expansion phase. Project management and engineering activities began immediately at Subsea7's offices in Rio de Janeiro, Paris, and Sutton, with offshore operations scheduled to commence in 2029. The contract strengthens Subsea7's portfolio in Brazil and reinforces its long-standing relationship with Petrobras in the pre-salt region.
