Taiwan launches 3.6GW offshore wind auction round
Taiwan has initiated its latest offshore wind auction, making 3.6GW of capacity available for development. The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced that the application window will run from April 1 to September 30, 2026, with winners expected to be announced by the end of the year. Projects will be evaluated based on developer performance (35%), financial capacity (30%), and project execution (35%), with a continued emphasis on local content. The target for project completion and grid connection is set for 2030-2031, with incentives including an extra five years of power purchase offered for early completion.
