Takanock to build 180MW 'Project Tallmadge' data center in Strasburg, Virginia

Developer Takanock is proposing the development of an 87-acre, 180MW data center campus named 'Project Tallmadge' in Strasburg, Virginia, near Interstate 81’s Exit 296. The land parcel is already zoned for industrial use, making the data center use 'by-right' according to the Town of Strasburg. Additional permitting for the site is set to be complete by Q3 2027, with construction beginning in the same quarter and concluding around 2030. Takanock, an energy company founded in 2023 by Kenneth Davies, is funded by DigitalBridge and Arclight, and aims to address power shortages by providing flexible on-site power solutions, including 400MW of front-of-the-meter natural gas generation for this facility.
