Tauron supplies 17,000 MWh of renewable energy to Katowice Airport under long-term PPA
Tauron signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply 17,000 megawatt-hours of certified renewable energy to Katowice International Airport in Poland over the next year. The green electricity will be sourced from wind, solar, and hydropower projects, enabling the airport to avoid over 8,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. Katowice Airport, Poland's second-largest airport, is aligning its operations with national decarbonization targets by transitioning to 100% renewable energy. Tauron, one of Poland's largest energy groups, will deliver the renewable energy through its diversified portfolio of clean energy assets. The agreement underscores the growing corporate demand for green energy solutions in Poland's aviation sector.
