Terabase Energy partners with PowerUQ to integrate uncertainty analysis software with PlantPredict solar modeling tools
Terabase Energy, a California-based engineering and construction technology firm, partnered with PowerUQ, a California-based energy consulting firm, to integrate PowerUQ's uncertainty analysis software with Terabase's PlantPredict solar modeling tools. The integration enables solar productivity analysis in PlantPredict to be loaded into PowerUQ for uncertainty quantification analysis, forecasting plant performance over time while accounting for factors like component performance degradation, utility curtailment policies, and weather events such as El Niño. David Spieldenner, director of PlantPredict sales at Terabase, highlighted that the software expansion uses cloud computing to perform advanced 3-D sub-hourly simulations, unlocking high-end computing capabilities. Chetan Chaudhari, co-founder and CEO of PowerUQ, emphasized the need for industry transition from first-year energy generation focus to long-term asset performance analysis over 20-30 years. The partnership aims to provide more granular and trustworthy results for solar project financial modeling and risk assessment.
