Transition Industries awards FEED contract to Siemens Energy and Techint Engineering & Construction for 210 MW electrolyzer plant in Mexico
In September 2025, Transition Industries awarded a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract to Siemens Energy and Techint Engineering & Construction for the development of a 210 MW electrolyzer plant in Topolobampo, Sinaloa, Mexico. The electrolyzer plant, designated as Elyzer P-300, will supply green hydrogen for the Pacífico Mexinol petrochemical complex, which aims to produce 2.15 million tons of low-carbon methanol annually by the early 2030s. Siemens Energy will provide the electrolyzer technology, while Techint Engineering & Construction will handle the engineering and design phase of the facility. The project is part of a broader $3.3 billion investment to establish the world's largest ultra-low-carbon methanol plant, leveraging renewable energy sources in Mexico's northwest region. The electrolyzer plant is expected to commence operations alongside the methanol facility, supporting the decarbonization of the maritime transport sector through the production of green methanol. Transition Industries, headquartered in Houston, United States, is developing the methanol complex under the Pacífico Mexinol brand.
