Source Intelligence
Zoox's vehicle was developed from the ground up without a steering wheel, pedals, or driver’s seat and can accommodate up to four passengers. It is a fully electric vehicle and does not resemble a passenger car but rather a shuttle. This partnership marks Zoox's first collaboration with a third-party platform, though booking will continue to be possible via the Zoox app. Zoox is also conducting test drives in Dallas, Phoenix, Seattle, Austin, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. Zoox plans to launch its robotaxi service in Austin and Miami next, independently of Uber. Uber has other robotaxi partnerships with Wayve, Volkswagen, Lucid, and Nuro. Zoox has been operating its driverless ride-hailing service independently in Las Vegas since September 2025 and in San Francisco since November 2025.
