Veolia partners with Marevivo and CNR to develop integrated renewable energy system for Marevivo Floating Hub on the Tiber River

Partnership SolarStorageOnshore WindHydro announced Italy Apr 15, 2026

Veolia partnered with Marevivo and the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) to develop an integrated renewable energy system for the Marevivo Floating Hub on the Tiber River in Rome. The project combines a 10 kW peak solar PV system with 2.5 kW/5 kWh battery storage, a 600 W mini wind turbine, and a planned mini hydro system of similar capacity, targeting 14,000 kWh of annual renewable electricity generation. The integrated system will supply 46% of the hub's energy needs, with excess power fed into the 'Un fiume di energia' renewable energy community. The floating hub, hosting the Center for River and Urban Biodiversity, integrates photovoltaic, mini wind, mini hydro, and storage technologies under a low-voltage grid serving the facility.
