Voltalia receives authorization for 270 MW Dom Basílio wind complex in Bahia, Brazil
The Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) has granted authorization to Voltalia Energia to develop and operate the Dom Basílio wind complex in Rio de Contas, Bahia. The project comprises six wind farms with a combined capacity of 270 MW and will operate under an independent power production (PIE) regime for a 35-year concession period. The authorization comes as the French company undergoes global restructuring in response to curtailment impacts and financial losses, including plans to reduce its workforce by 10% and cut its development portfolio by 30%. No power purchase agreements have been disclosed for the project at this time.
