Winda Energy plans 100MW data center in Janakkala
Finnish renewable energy firm Winda Energy is expanding into data center development with a 100MW project in Rastikangas, Janakkala. A 22-hectare site has been reserved in the MORE-Rastikangas industrial zone, with construction scheduled to begin in 2027 and the first phase targeted for completion in 2028. The company aims to invest €500 million ($584 million) in the data center, which could span 112,110 sqm. The project is being developed in European collaboration with Gi21 Capital, an investment company specializing in data center infrastructure across Europe. Winda Energy, founded in 2011, has a material portfolio of wind and solar power projects across Finland, with its majority shareholder being Czech private equity investor BHM Renewables, part of BHM Group.
