Zelestra completes 162 MW Belinchón solar cluster in Spain ahead of schedule, powering pharmaceutical decarbonization
Zelestra, a global renewable energy company, has successfully commissioned the 162 MW Belinchón solar cluster in Cuenca, Spain, delivering the project ahead of schedule in under 14 months. The three-plant project is backed by a long-term multi-buyer power purchase agreement (PPA) facilitated through the Energize program, managed by Schneider Electric, which brings together major pharmaceutical companies to address Scope 2 and 3 emissions. The project supported approximately 400 jobs during construction and is expected to avoid over 42,700 tons of CO2 emissions annually. This development strengthens Zelestra's position in the Spanish market, where it has 1.1 GW of contracted projects and a pipeline exceeding 7 GW.
